According to the very recent forecasts of the EU commission, Spanish GDP should grow by 6.2% in 2021 and 6.3% in 2022, significantly more than the EU average, estimated at 4.8% this year and 4.5% next year.
Furthermore, so that this recovery does not end in the short term, the Spanish government has studied in detail a large spending plan where to use the funds of the Next Generation EU. Madrid presented a 69.5 billion national recovery plan until 2023. The expenses will be covered by non-repayable transfers from the European Union.
The Government will have direct control of the management of the funds, entrusted to an inter-ministerial commission chaired by the Prime Minister and a technical committee.
