ProPaper Africa: the leading trade fair in Africa in an ever-growing sector

ProPaper Africa, to be held in Kenya, Nairobi, from 5 to 7 October 2022, is the most important trade show in Africa for the paper, printing and packaging industries.

Buyers of guaranteed quality from large trading houses, wholesalers, distributors, shops and private labels will be present at the event. Visitors will come from all over Africa but also from the Middle East.

With an average annual growth of close to 5% and a population of 1.2 billion, Africa is seen by all analysts as a huge opportunity for consumer-facing industries (including the paper industry).

Kenya plays an important role in the paper industry for Africa, with many top-tier companies expert in the production of tissue paper, recycling machines, pulp products and packaging products. Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, is a regional hub for trade and has attracted the attention of the world of innovation, technology and finance.

The global paper products market, according to various estimates, will hit $ 1.8 trillion by 2027 (from $ 1.5 trillion in 2020), growing by 3% annually. The COVID-19 pandemic that has led to a strong focus on hygiene, coupled with growing concern for sustainability, has ensured a growing demand for paper products in the packaging industry. In the Middle East and Africa, the pulp and paper market is expected to achieve annual growth of 3.2% over the period 2021-2026. This surge is also catalyzed by the rise in the e-commerce trend across the region. Many African countries have also banned plastics for disposable products and packaging.
